"This book will make connections with the AASL Standards and approach the idea of collaboration from three areas: 1) Collaboration between school librarians and classroom educators to create library lessons and projects that meet library skills goals as well as classroom learning goals to create a collaborative experience for learners that flows through multiple spaces and creates a learning foundation for skills and ideas. 2) Collaboration skills for Learners. It is essential that learners learn to be collaborative and know how to work with others, share ideas and receive feedback. This book will share practical ideas and plans on how school librarians can weave the development of this essential skill into projects and lessons. 3) Space. The school library is the heart of the school and it is imperative that the space fosters a culture of collaboration in the physical space but also allows for the time, space, and freedom for learners to collaborate.
