General note | Evans attributes this almanac to Benjamin West, as he does nearly all those issued under the Bickerstaff pseudonym. |
General note | Calculated by Nathan Daboll. The eclipse predictions duplicate those in his New England almanac and gentlemen and ladies'diary for 1797 (New London) with the omission of one sentence. The moon calculations and most of the astronomical and horological notes on the calendar pages are identical with Daboll's. The calculations for the sun vary in part, and those for the tides altogether, reflecting the difference in meridian between the two almanacs. |
General note | Advertised in the Norwich packet, Oct. 20, 1796. |
