Whereas on the late examination before the Honourable House of Assembly, it appeared that Mr. Jauncey, had for many years, been privately a generous benefactor to the poor of this city, by the hands of Obadiah Wells : --and whereas, a report has been industriously propagated, that upon going round among the Presbyterian congregation, to which Mr. Jauncey belongs, no persons could be found who had received his benefactions.--A friend to truth, and an admirer of Mr. Jauncey's amiable and benevolent dispostion, has published the following affidavits, for the satisfaction of the public, without the privity of Mr. Jauncey, or any of his family.
