| Summary | The purpose of this study was to determine how biology students at a community college would learn in a computerThe biology classes in this study met at Craven Community College in New Bern, North Carolina, assisted classroom. during the academic years 1993-1994 and 1994-1995. One of the instructors for these classes was pioneering the development of computer based teaching and computer assisted learning in college-level science classes. This study will document the changes that occurred facilitating learning amongst groups of adult students despite their different life styles, schedules and experiences. Data was gathered by observing classes, interviewing faculty members, and documenting student response. Common characteristics emerged from the study of this data concerning the students' learning of science and the instructors' use of computer technology. |
