Abstract This seminar focuses on the structure and function of the head and neck as they relate to oral-motor efficiency, including feeding, articulation, respiration, and tongue/jaw function. Emphasis is placed on soft tissue issues related to the neck and shoulder musculature and oral-moor techniques outside and inside the mouth. Physical handling techniques needed to support postural adaptations, respiration, vocalization, and feeding are discussed, presented, and demonstrated.
