Abstract The Parents Guide explores what is going on in schools today and discusses some of the key issues from a parent's point of view. In this programme, presenter Fiona Millar is joined by two parents, Debbie Lawson and Rob Bowden, together with education consultant Dr Marilyn Fryer, to discuss creativity in secondary schools. They look at some Teachers TV programmes and see how creativity is being addressed by teachers, pupils and, of course, parents. How do schools incorporate creativity across the curriculum? Is being creative a natural talent or can it be taught? How are boys encouraged to be creative? How is the balance struck between traditional and contemporary approaches to music and art? What is the role of drama? How can parents get involved?
