Abstract | The Parents Guide explores what is going on in schools today and discusses some of the key issues from a parent's point of view. In this programme, presenter Fiona Millar and two parents, together with education consultant Christine Ryan, discuss how science is being taught in secondary schools. They look at some Teachers TV programmes and see how school science is changing, with new challenges for teachers, pupils and, of course, parents. They debate whether it is important for all pupils to learn science and what kind of science, how do teachers motivate boys and girls to study science and what is the best way to support their child's learning.Viewers can hear the opinions of parents and gain an insight into what other schools are doing in this area. |
