Other title Nicole, opioid use disorder, moderate, trauma assessment V2
Abstract A little over a year ago, Nicole was involved in a serious car accident that resulted in facial injuries and hospitalization. Following the accident, Nicole began taking Oxycontin for nerve damage. Nicole continues to have nightmares and flashbacks of the accident and is triggered by sirens, which remind her of the ambulance ride. Nicole avoids driving, avoids the street where the accident occurred, and becomes hesitant when having to walk across a street. Whenever Nicole feels the tingling in her nerves, she’s reminded of the accident, which then results in her taking another Oxycontin.
