Abstract |
A sampler of some hearty Southern concoctions, from burgoo to South Carolina hash and from Brunswick stew to chicken bog, also explores how food helps Southerners retain their connections to the past and to one another. The film opens and closes with scenes shot in Owensboro, highlighting the Western Kentucky version of burgoo, made wholly or partially with generous portions of mutton. |
