General noteErroneously attributed to the Rev. Samuel Webster (1718-1796) by Bristol and Shipton & Mooney, who date this [1790]. Although the drownings occurred in 1790, typographical evidence suggests that the broadside was printed well after that date. Perhaps printed at nearby Worcester, Mass.
General noteThe only known copy, held by the American Antiquarian Society, is a mutilated fragment, lacking lower half of sheet. Text in two columns; printed area measures 13.3+ x 15.5 cm.
General noteThe words "By Samuel Webster, Sutto[n ...]" are printed at right angles to the text, between the two columns.
