General noteA translation of the author's Memoire sur l'inoculation de la petite vérole (Paris, 1754) probably based on the text included in his Mémoires pour servir à l'histoire de l'inoculation de la petite vérole (Paris, 1768). A different English translation was published in London in 1755 under title: A discourse on inoculation.
