Abstract |
Pungo Lake, in the Pungo Unit of Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, is in Hyde and Washington Counties of eastern North Carolina. The 2800-acre wetland is the wintering spot for thousands of Snow Geese and Tundra Swans. You can see more than two hundred species of birds around the lake, including twenty-six species of migratory waterfowl. There are forty species of mammals and the Pungo Unit is famous for its Black Bear population. --container |
