Abstract | The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services received a one-year State Planning Grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to study options to expand coverage to the uninsured.The task force offered 13 recommendations, 5 of which were considered priority recommendations. Summarized, those 5 are: additional state funding, promotion of personal responsibility, development of limited-benefit Medicaid expansion, creation of a subsidized health insurance product, and creation of a high-risk pool for pre-existing conditions. |
