It includes a dedication to Haydn and is one of the earliest specimens of musical biography which, compared with other branches of biography, was still in its infancy even in the latter part of the 19th century. This first biography of Mozart is not only an important document of music history but also a loving and intimate portrait of the world-renowned composer.
