Papers (1975-2008, undated) of Jeanie R. Little, an organist and music professor at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia, consisting of correspondence, doctoral thesis, seminar presentations, printed materials, handwritten research journal articles, clippings, and slides with images of medieval English cathedrals, abbeys, and castles and depictions of musical instruments in them. The slides were taken during her six-month research sabbatical in Oxford, England, in 1982. |

Biographical note | Jeanie Rebecca Little (1943-2008), native of Charlottesville, Va., graduated from Lynchburg College and Indiana University and held a PhD from Iowa University in Organ Literature and Pedagogy. She taught organ, piano, and other courses at Virginia Union University for 24 years. She also played organ recitals as a member of the American Guild of Organists, was assistant organist at All Saints Episcopal Church, and played the Carillon at Dogwood Dell, Richmond, Va. In 1982, she completed post-graduate studies at Oxford University. She retired after marrying Capt. Ernest Carl Castle in 1991. |
