Collection is mainly concerned with the Greenville, N.C., office of the Eastern North Carolina Branch, although there are limited records included for offices located in Farmville, Washington, Williamston, and Robersonville. Correspondence details branch office and inter-office business transactions. Records describe sales by local warehouses, purchase and shipment of tobacco, grades of tobacco, jobs performed in the warehouses, and the equipment and materials needed for operation. Ledgers detail the financial dealings of the company, the movement and processing of tobacco leaf, and the amounts and kinds of tobacco purchased and sold. |
