General note"This is the second edition of the New Testament; and, according to Thomas, consisted of twenty-five hundred copies, five hundred of which were bound up with the Indian Catechism [Evans 138?], and the remainder of the edition reserved to complete a second edition of the whole Bible which appeared in 1685, in which form it is usually found bound. The title and greater part of the New Testament were printed in 1680, but the Testament was not completed until the year following."--Evans. Reported copies of this separate issue may be copies taken from the whole Bible of 1685.
