Abstract | "People differ amongst themselves as fundamentally as animals or plants. Plants and animals differ according in consequence determined by different structures of plants and animals as a whole, or by variations in organs, cells, genetics, or in environmental conditions that influence functioning. People who abuse psychoactive substances differ in treatment interventions determined by stratification of socio-economic class and race. The rich and middle class mostly White populations with good insurance are treated by the rehab-pharma-industrial complex (Chapter 2) and the impoverished and people of color, by the prison-industrial-complex"-- Provided by publisher. |
