Biographical note | The 6th president and 1st Chancellor of East Carolina University, Leo Warren Jenkins (1913-1989) was one of the universities most impactful leaders. During his tenure, he shepherded the institution from college to university status, oversaw massive growth highlighted by creation of the School of Medicine, and facilitated the desegregation of the university, among many other accomplishments. |
