Abstract |
Wouldn't it be great if teachers had the opportunity to produce their own videos and have them broadcast on Teachers TV? Well, that's what Action! Teacher Video is all about; and in this episode you can see a video created at Gallions Primary School in London and called Etching the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) . Teacher Patrick O Neill talks about the aims of the project and how both teachers and pupils engaged in a new creative process under the guidance of a professional artist. The video shows how pupils responded to the challenge and gained in self-confidence as well as developing their creative skills.Presenter Xanthe Steen is joined in the studio by Patrick, education consultant Adrienne Jones and teacher Nick Cannon, to discuss the project. They talk about the key issues of a creative curriculum, building self-esteem and confidence. They also consider the wider implications of using video for recording, assessment and CPD. |
