Abstract | Containing nearly five hundred items, this volume is a collection of all known writings of Ludwig van Beethoven (other than notations in Conversation Books and Journals) which did not appear in previous editions. The careful annotations give pertinent bibliographical information and sketch the background and circumstances of the letters. Thus the volume makes conveniently available the rich store of biographical and musical information in the letters, receipts, newspaper notices, and the like reproduced here. |
