General note | "The General Assembly of the State of Connecticut, at their session in May, 1836, received petitions from various parts of the State, praying for a repeal of the 8th section of the 'act to incorporate the Connecticut Medical Society.' By a vote of the General Assembly, these petitions were postponed to the next session of the Assembly, with an order for a citation to the Medical Society. In consequence of this citation, the Medical Society of New Haven County, at their annual meeting in April, 1837, adopted the following report, as expressive of their views in regard to the expediency of the proposed measure."--Preliminary note, recto t.p. |
