Abstract "The NDMS is a Federal organization within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is managed by the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response. Along with Health and Human Services, the NDMS partners include the Department of Defense, the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Department of Homeland Security to design, develop, and maintain a national capability to deliver quality medical care in response to domestic disasters as part of the United States National Response Plan. This video explains the role of the NDMS, and how it depends on the active involvement and commitment of civilian hospitals to maintain a ready response in case of domestic disasters or an overseas conventional military conflict"--Container.
