a| Papers of David B. Stevens, which document his military, professional, and personal life, include correspondence, photographs, reports, clippings, speech files and other printed materials. Correspondence contains letters Stevens sent to his wife, Willa Stevens, during his World War II service abroad. Postwar correspondence documents Stevens's career at ECU and as a commercial pilot, civic interests and service, and contact with family and friends, including those he served with during the war. A small portion of the correspondence includes discussions with various political figures, including Water Jones, Robert Morgan, Jesse Helms, and Tom Taft, about state and national legislation. The bulk of the photographs relate to Stevens's involvement at local Kiwanis Club functions, but also include several of Stevens and his wife while on vacation, as well as an autographed photograph of Stevens with Helms and his staff. Printed materials consist of reports, minutes, agendas, newsletter, and clippings, the bulk of which concern Stevens' s professional life at ECU as well as his work in professional organizations. Also includes documentation of a plan by the Aviation Museum Association to construct a museum at the Greenville Airport.
