The royal commentaries of Peru, in two parts. : The first part. General note"[Rycaut] had a very slight knowledge of the Spanish language and he did not scruple to make wild guesses at the meaning of sentences, and to omit whole chapters. Thus he only gives fourteen out the twenty-six chapters in the first book, and sixteen out of the twenty-six in the second."--C.S. General noteOne of four issues of this edition. In this one, line13 of title reads: "The scond part." There are two issues of printed by Miles Flesher, for Richard Tonson in the same year; this one has imprint reading "Richard Tonson within Gray's-Inn-Gate next Gray's-Inn-Lane"; the other has imprint reading "Richard Tonson at Gray's-Inn-Gate in Gray's-Inn-Lane".
