Summary A volume kept by Charles Spink containing marine signals and navigational computations probably on a whaling voyage in the ship MARYLAND off Woiakoa, Hawaii (1823-25). The volume also contains daybook entries for the sale of sperm oil, sperm candles, and other products from 1825-29 and commonplace entries, mostly poetry, kept by Mary Crocker. The collection also includes a folder of misc. newspapers clippings.
