Abstract |
Presidential appointee and corporate executive Ertharin Cousin was born on 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1979; and her J.D. degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. From 1983 to 1993, she held several positions including Assistant State Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General. In 1993, Cousin was appointed deputy chief of staff for the Democratic National Committee. In 1997, President Bill Clinton appointed Cousin to the Board for International Food and Agriculture Development. Simultaneously, Cousin was also vice president for government and community affairs for Jewel Food Stores. Later, she held a similar position with Albertsons Foods. In 2004, Cousin became Feeding America's executive vice president and chief operating officer. In 2009, she was appointed by President Barack Obama as U.S. Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome, Italy. |
