Variant title KS3 History : the jazz age
Abstract Archive film based programme about America from the Treaty of Versailles to the Wall Street Crash. Teacher and historian Ben Walsh presents this revealing insight into a period of unprecedented prosperity and change as America emerged from the First World War as the world's dominant economic and political power. The programme uses footage from the North American Records Administration and some modern versions of the jazz music of the time. The programme can be used to raise some interesting questions about the interpretation of archive footage.
