General note | "It will be observed that three separate and independent records of the proceedings of the Convention are included within this volume. The first is the Official journal kept by the Secretary of the Convention, occupying pages 29 to 94, inclusive. The second is the Report of debates, taken by the editors of the newspapers, occupying pages 95 to 284, inclusive. The third is Judge Parson's Minutes, occupying pages 285 to 320, inclusive ... . The first and third of these records are here printed for the first time. The second is printed from the volume published in 1808, which was the second edition of the Debates." Cf. Pref., p. vii. |
