Patterson (1879-1881) consisting primarily of correspondence between Patterson and his sweetheart, Olivia Russell Hargrove, but also Patterson's portrait, a newspaper clipping with Patterson's obituary, and religious cards. Their courtship is detailed as well as Patterson's experience with tuberculosis, his travels throughout North Carolina, his Presbyterian faith, and the weather. |
