Scope and content	The collection consists of materials compiled by Joel Grant Handcock, for use in the book Strengthened by the Storm. It includes the diaries, journals and letters of Mormon missionaries in eastern North Carolina, including William A. Adams, James Godfrey, William M. Hansen, William R. Hobbs, Lewis Johnson, William A. Petty, and James Taylor, along with memoirs, notes, clippings, anecdotes and other materials.
