Scope and content |
Court records, the majority of which are Jones County, N.C., mortgage and chattel liens, comprise about half of this collection. The mortgage liens involve lands chiefly in either Trenton or Maysville, N.C., and include liens on the land agricultural production. Other court records include Mayors' Court complaints and a Jones County court case record. Complaints deal with construction and maintenance of Trenton dwellings. The Jones County court case record is an enumeration of amendments to a land dispute hearing between L. M. Pollock and several defendants. Miscellaneous items include two Ku Klux Klan pamphlets; R. L. Pollock's daybook, which lists alphabetically names of his debtors; and copies of genealogical data, possibly from a family Bible, on Thomas Pollock's children. |
