Collection contains photocopies of Gregory's diaries and letters, in which he gives a brief chronological account of his trip to and journey in China, comments on soldiers in Tokyo, the stopping of their ship by Japanese gunboats, tobacco crop and prices, opium smoking, magistrates, physical conditions, and various temples. |
