Abstract The Pitt County (N.C.) Bar Association papers include correspondence, minutes, membership records, and miscellaneous items. Correspondence concerns the redistricting of North Carolina judicial districts; the Pitt County Bar Association endorsement of William J. Bundy for resident judge of the new Third Judicial District; lawyer referral services; lawyers' fees; salaries of lawyers in the armed forces; socialized medicine and compulsory health insurance; international exchange programs of judges, lawyers, professors, and law students; and the segregation of the North Carolina Bar Association. Also included is correspondence from Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren. Correspondence of the Junior Bar Conference concerns the dissemination of information regarding the G.I. Bill to returning soldiers and improving traffic safety. Minutes include lists of members and committees, the constitution and by-laws, information on annual dues and the setting of court calendars, a suggested fee list, and financial reports. Miscellaneous items include a program for the 1954 North Carolina Bar Association annual meeting; publications; a 1960 publication reporting on the American Bar Association's Special Committee on World Peace Through Law; a 1941 photograph of the U.S. Supreme Court; and a Farmville Rotary Club Golden Anniversary program.
