Abstract Papers of the King, Slover, Taylor, Hollister, Bryan, and related families, consisting of correspondence, poems, financial papers, legal records, and genealogies. Isaac Taylor materials include a typescript of his estate inventory complete with a detailed account of plantation equipment; slaves, along with their age and monetary value; household and kitchen furniture. Also includes an essay on Revolutionary War Brigadier General William Bryan of Craven County; documents (1799-1800) pertaining to the sloop the RAINBOW, which was captured by a French privateer; slave bill of sale; description of travel to Paris, France (1828); biographical sketch, notes, and correspondence related to Revolutionary War Brigadier General William Bryan; description of voyages from New Bern, N.C., to Newport, R.I., and from New Bern to New York by boat and railroad (1833).
