His Majesty's lieutenant-governour, and commander in chief of the said colony and dominion: a proclamation : Whereas a party of Cherokees arrived at Staunton in Augusta, and intended to proceed from thence to Winchester, having obtained a pass ... were on there way thither attacked by upwards of twenty men ... Given under my hand at Williamsburg, this 13th day of May, 1765, and in the fifth year of His Majesty's reign.
