Abstract |
"The COVID pandemic has raged through an already shattered world, compounding the miseries of neoliberalism, of the 2008 Global financial crisis, of deepening environmental collapse and of a decade of austerity. It has further ravaged health systems, has left children without face to face teaching and has punished people already left behind by the marketized public sector. The cry of "Build Back Better" sounds hollow. Here David Ridley sets out a blueprint for the younger generation and the left to ensure that we do more than build back better, we take a long look at how society, work, education and health systems are set up and take steps to eradicate the inequalities that exist in society. We don't seek consolation, we take steps to make life, society and the environment sustainable, equal and better"-- Provided by publisher. |
