Summary This study explored the relationships between various personality characteristics (i.e., locus of control, entitlement, agreeableness, and conscientiousness) and a variety of job-related attitudes and perceptions, as well as potential differences between men and women. Specifically, perceptions of the gender wage gap were assessed by examining wage gap beliefs, fairness of current compensation, satisfaction with initial wages, perceptions of job-related setbacks for mothers and fathers, optimism regarding upward mobility in one's organization, equity concerns, and willingness to advocate for higher wages. Findings indicated that aspects of personality were highly related to certain job-related perceptions and attitudes, although at times the direction of those relationships was surprising. Results and directions for future research are discussed.
