Abstract |
Architect and corporate executive Louis Jones was born on July 1, 1946 in Huntsville, Alabama. In 1964, Jones graduated from Tilden Technical High School in Chicago, Illinois. He began working for Skidmore, Owings and Merrill architects. In 1973, he joined McKee-Berger-Mansueto doing construction management, and earned his B.A. degree in architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Two years later, Jones became a licensed architect and started working for Schal Associates, whose work included Madison Plaza and One Magnificent Mile. In 1984, Jones became president of Louis Jones Enterprises, Inc. His firm joined the construction management team that built the James Stukel Towers student housing complex at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From 1986, Jones sat on the Board of Directors for Black Contractors United. He also served as president of the board of A.C.E. Technical Charter High School in Chicago. |
