Title page has slight damage to the top of "R" of "Maronis" and to the bottom of the "B" of "Baskerville. Includes all of the 'usual' cancels, plus cancel of S4. Point missing at pp. 225 and 350. Page 208, the letters 'Dd' of the signature are separated by a wide space. Armorial bookplate with motto "Coeur fidelle" of William Finch Palmer on front pastedown. Baskerville's Publii Virgilii Maronis Bucolica, Georgica et Æneis, first edition, includes the first use of wove paper in history. |
