General noteThe text is a transcription of the edition printed in 1503 in Salamanca by Hans Giesser. It consists of the Spanish translation of "Historia rerum in partibus transmarinis gestarum" written by William, Archbishop of Tyre, augmented by insertions of translations of the so-called Crusade Cycle ("La Chanson d'Antioche," "La Chanson des Chétifs, " "La Conquête de Jérusalem, " "La Chanson du Chevalier au Cigne, " and the "Enfances de Godefroi de Bouillon), also included are the Provençal "Chanson d'Antioche" and the legends, "Berte aux grans pies, " and "Mainet."
